Blaj

Sunrise of Romanians

Watch a short documentary film about an enterprising priest and the town he created. Blaj, the bishopric seat of the Greek Catholic Romanian Church, became an important place in Transylvania. The town of Blaj, now home to over 25 thousand people, has had a tumultous 700 years history. Once called "the sunrise of Romanians" because of its rich scholastic medium, for the first time dedicated to Transylvanians, Blaj is fighting to live up to its renown once more.
